The Sunset tour is a jeep expedition through the Wadi Rum Protected Area most significant sites:
- Lawrence’s Spring, named after T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia), who spoke so invitingly of it during the Arab Revolt. You can also climb the rock formation, where the spring emerges from the mountain, taking in one of the best views of the desert.
- The Jabel Khazali Canyon – 15-minute tour between canyon walls adorned with ancient rock inscriptions and paintings by the Nabateans and Thamuds.
- Drive to the red sand dunes in Wadi Um Ishrin .
- Lawrence’s House, where the legend claims that he stayed during the revolt.
- Jebel Anafishiya, where you can admire 2,500 year old Nabatean rock inscriptions.
- Followed by the Um Fruth Bridge (approximately 20m high), favorite place for climbing and another excellent photo opportunity.
- Relax atop a giant red sand dune, enjoying the legendary Wadi Rum sunset with a cup of Bedouin tea.
Once evening sets in, we will select a picturesque campsite for the night, where you will enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner prepared atop a wood fire, accompanied with sweet Bedouin tea. Around the campfire we will hear about life in the desert and share thoughts and culture.
Recommended walk under the stars: Before turning in for the night, we highly recommend taking a short stroll under the star filled sky, where you will have a clear view of the milky way galaxy, constellations, and shooting stars. Please bear in mind that although a short walk is safe, it is also very easy to get lost if you stray too far from camp.
